Introduction

Spices are an alluring and maybe even mystifying ingredient in cooking. Yes,  they are generally necessary and yes,  are sometimes skipped since prepackaged foods already contain flavor and loads of sodium to boot. And not the good kind. Home made daily cooking from scratch can prove bland when we fail to incorporate spices other than need I say salt & pepper.  Since we are busy people with lives of commuting, fetching,  cleaning,  thinking,  and planning the rest of our non eating lives,  why worry about spicing up food?  Well, consider  it  a lot like spicing up the rest of our life with recreation, entertainment, travel or anything else that offers character and value into our existence.
It offers a chance to intimately design our palate to the way we feel, and based on our daily constitution.  Am I feeling symptoms of dampness,  or heat from a summer drought?  Do I feel achey or overly stressed?  Spices can help counter balance these personal symptoms,  based on more than just flavor to achieve. It does require a little bit of knowlege which I hope you can find here on this blog, to start cooking with spices and change your old eating habbits into an interesting,  thoughtful, healthy spice pantry filled experience.
